How to create scenarios

FAQ's and Glossary

Quick answers and terms

Your home page as your forecasts grow

What your home page shows the first time you land on it, how it changes once you build a second forecast, and what happens if you delete one.

Ratios glossary

Plain-English definitions for every ratio available in sherloc, in alphabetical order. Each entry includes the formula used and a worked example.

How to model a cost as a percentage of another line in sherloc

Some costs move in line with another figure in your forecast, such as commission tracking sales or cost of goods tracking revenue. Rather than updating them separately, you can link them so one drives the other.

Set up a staff costs line before you add your team

Every team member you add needs a home in your forecast: a cost line their salary links to. Most charts of accounts already have one. Checking for it as soon as you connect your accounting software, before you start on People, means you can add your team in one go.

Scenarios & assumptions glossary

Plain-English definitions for the terms and options you'll see while building an assumption in sherloc, in the order you'll meet them, from starting an assumption through to reading the result.
